Jan. 2, 2015, the Houston Chronicle reports drivers of two cars forced to stop behind lowered safety arms at a railroad crossing, got out and raised those road-blockers. Then, while driving across the tracks, both cars were hit by a freight train, injuring the drivers and five children. While many feel the reason people ride motorcycles on high speed roadways is they don’t realize the real danger or suffer from a subconscious desire to commit suicide, the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration has some good news. In 2013, only 4,668 motorcyclists were killed, down from 4,986 in 2012. (The Los Angeles Times, 1-3-15)
SHE COULD PLAY CARDS, INSTEADFrom The Huffington Post (12-22-14): Caroline Cartwright, of Sunderland, England, defied a court order requiring her to stop screaming during sex with her husband after police responded to approximately 30 noise complaints at their home. “It’s not as if I’m having sex and think ‘Oh, I’m making too much noise. I better be quiet,’" she said.
