WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1352)

ANY EXCUSE POSSIBLE
Christina Anne Marie Lamoreaux, 33, of Wildwood, Fla., crashed her car into an apartment building, but blamed her puppy dog. She was arrested and charged with DUI. Records show pets are often blamed for auto accidents. Some drivers say their dog hit the wheel, or jumped on their feet. Other reasons have included cats, turtles and/or squirrels in the road. A WIMPY PUNISHMENT
Last heard, Anders Behring Breivik, sentenced for killing 77 people in a bomb attack, will serve the maximum of 21 years inside Halden, a Norwegian high-security prison. There he will live in total comfort, within quarters which provide en suite bathrooms with ceramic tiles, mini-fridges and flat-screen TV. His surroundings of paintings, photos and special lighting cost roughly $1 million. (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/25/world/europe/anders-behring-breivik-murder-trial.html?_r=0)
MAY PLAY STRIP POKER IN PRISON
Christian Lusardi, 43, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was sentenced to 5 years in prison. What got him caught was a toilet clogged with counterfeit poker chips during his stay at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City. And, an additional 22 tournament chips worth $5,000 were found in another clogged toilet in the Borgata the next day. All told, authorities confiscated $3.6 million worth of tournament chips in his possession. (http://www.sfgate.com/news/crime/article/Man-admits-bringing-fake-chips-to-Atlantic-City-6442618.php)
