WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1346)

CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT?
Texas’ Smith County Judge Randall Rogers “sentenced” Josten Bundy, 21, for hitting his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in the jaw. But the judge gave him an option. Either spend 15-days in jail, or marry 19-year-old Elizabeth (Hannah) Jaynes, the girlfriend he claimed to be honoring in his assault. ELSEWHERE WORSE WILL OCCUR
August 6, 2015 was the 70th anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, which killed up to 166,000 in Hiroshima and possibly 80,000 in Nagasaki. One survivor, Emiko Okada, now age 78, recalls: There was the buzz of the plane, the huge flash, the cries for water, the kids like ghosts with skin dangling off them, the people with their guts hanging out. RECHARGEABLE ROMANCE
Dr. Helen Driscoll, a senior psychology lecturer and researcher at the University of Sunderland in the U.K., predicted that attitudes toward sexual relationships with robots will change as technologies improve. Stating, "Robophilia may be alien now, but could be normal in the near future as attitudes evolve with technology."
