WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1119)

NO TREAD ON THESE TIRES
Orissa, a state in India, opened numerous clinics to perform mass sterilizations, attempting to control rapid population growth. But the procedures were stopped in November 2014, after Dr. Mahesh Chandra Rout admitted these clinics used common bicycle pumps to inflate women’s abdomens. Enlarging the abdomen helps a surgeon to operate. The proper agent however is carbon dioxide. (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-30308653)
SOME PEOPLE JUST DON’T CARE
On December 17, 2014, Federal charges were filed against 14 former owners or employees of a Massachusetts pharmacy, New England Compounding Center of Framingham. That was after the distribution nationwide of unsanitary, outdated pain medications caused an outbreak of fungal meningitis, sending patients to hospitals and pain clinics, killing 64. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS THEIR FAULT
A Canadian woman, Emma Czornobaj, 25, was sentenced to 90 days in prison and a 10-year driving ban for stopping on a busy highway to save the lives of several ducks. That’s because her stopped car was struck by a motorcycle, killing Andre Roy, 50, and his daughter Jessie, 16. Motorcycles: Suicides waiting to happen. (The AP, 12-19-14)
