WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1070)

HE WENT TO SCHOOL LOADED
A Conroe, Texas, mother, Heather Hodges, 28, was so sure her 13-year-old son had mistreated her two younger children, she hid a gun in his backpack before he left for school to get him in trouble. She then called authorities to warn them. That occurred back in 2012. Now she’s been sentenced to three years in prison. (The AP, 11-01-14)
BEATING OKAY, SHOOTING NOT?
Nikole Ardeno and Emanuel Velez, both 30, accused their former roommate of stealing their property, and allegedly punched and kicked him outside on the street until he had seizures. Odd thing was Ardeno was still wearing her "Stop the Violence" T-shirt, worn the night before, leading a march protesting two recent shootings. WONDER WHAT SHE “ATE” AT LUNCH
When a van on official business for the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, accidentally hit Megan Campbell's Nissan Pathfinder in August 2014, she filed a claim against the city for the $1,900 damage. What’s unusual is the van was driven by the same Megan Campbell, an employee of St. Paul Parks and Recreation, who apparently couldn’t avoid hitting her own parked SUV.
