WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1067)

MEXICO CITY HAS RENT-A-GRAVE
Mexico City and its metro area have a total population of some 21 million. Yet, while 30,000 die yearly, it has only 71,000 grave sites left. Meaning, even though the maximum time a grave can be rented and paid for now is 21 years, soon it could be lowered to 15. And, while cremation is an option, only 2 crematories are available to cook corpses. (The AP, 10-29-14)
YOU LOVE CHOCOLATE THIS MUCH?
While scientists believe an antioxidant in chocolate can improve the memories of older folks, getting enough would be difficult. To consume the high-flavanol group’s daily dose of epicatechin (138 milligrams), would mean eating 300 grams of dark chocolate daily - about 7 average bars.
HE CRAVED SMELLING FEET/UNDIES
Patrick Quinn, 26, a police officer for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, near Houston, TX, pulled over a motorist because of an expired sticker. He smelled marijuana and asked her to wait in his patrol car while he searched her car. Admitting he had a foot fetish, he offered to let her off the hook if she would let him smell her feet, then changing his mind, asked for her panties. Seconds later, the officer abruptly told her to “forget about it.” Identified and arrested on 2 counts of oppression, he was placed on administrative leave. Quinn was released after posting $2,000 bond. (The New York Times, 10-27-14)
