WEIRD, BIZARRE and UNUSUAL (.1056)

THERE GOES THE HONEYMOON
Oct. 11, 2014, during their wedding reception in Terre Haute, Indiana, Dr. George 'Scott' Samson, 54, told his bride, Kelly Ecker, 50, she would ‘never get her hands on his money.’ And, after the last guest left well past midnight, the intoxicated couple got into a fight, and Samson shot his new bride to death.  (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2783750/Newlywed-doctor-married-HOURS-kills-wife-MINUTES-guest-left-wedding-reception.html?ito=social-facebook)
AH, BLOW-IT-OUT
Researchers say determining stress levels in whales can be stressful on researchers. The most reliable way to measure whale tension lies in hormones captured setting in a boat next to the huge creature, waiting until it blasts snot out of its blowhole. Now forced to catch the mess, or wipe it from their raincoats, a mucus-trapping drone is being developed to fly over and catch the discharge. (Boston Globe, 9-10-14)
BE PERFECT – MAKE NO MISTAKES
You ever broken the law? Most everyone has at least gotten a speeding ticket. A new website - Instant Checkmate – publicly reveals the “private” past of millions of Americans. It aggregates hundreds of millions of publicly available criminal, traffic, and arrest records and posts them online so they can easily be searched by anyone about/by friends, family, neighbors, etc. (Note: The reports are not free.)
